Over the past few months I've been getting back in touch with my judging roots as well as thinking about how my life has been turning out. I've come to the conclusion that I've been out of school for way too long and that companies would not be interested in me as I haven't done anything with my degree professionally in almost 2 years. My only options at this point are either 1) accept defeat and struggle with 2 jobs the rest of my life, 2) work towards getting into a graduate school program somewhere, or 3) essentially work 3 jobs, applying what I learned in school and through Yugioh to create projects just as awesome as my original Game King project and even better than such endeavors as "Game King Online" and "Netrep". I'll tell you all right now that 1) is definately not an option for me, I've come too far to give up on anything and 2) will need to wait until I can save up enough money to take the GRE, which is pretty much the SAT to get into graduate school.
This past month I've taken the time to step outside of myself and really examine who I used to be, who I am, and who I want to be. I've been taking measures to plan out what I need to do to achieve the goals of who I want to be, including being much more physically fit than I have been recently and also making a huge step toward completing my projects
I've also been waiting for a promotion at one of my jobs which I was told would come soon after training new employees...which has been about 3 months now. Apparently the decision on who to promote is coming up and I'm an odds-on favorite for everybody working there except for apparently the one guy who has the final say....just my luck.
Regardless, my finances are starting to fall into place and if I do get this promotion that just makes things even better for me! Once I've finished planning out my course of action for my life this year, I'll post on this blog again to update those who are still interested, but here's a little insight for what I have planned this coming year:
~get that promotion at work and work harder to get to the next step there!
~try to save up enough money for my projects by selling some of my judge support on eBay
~attend as many Shonen Jump Championships as possible, maybe even learn how to judge "Magic: the Gathering" events
~at least complete the database which I will use for my projects; a MAJOR step to overcome
~Introduce my newest projects: renaming my old "Game King" project and the creation of a brand new website for all your official and unofficial rulings on cards and policies!
